- David Bowie's early '70s glam phase is referenced with a lightning bolt eye shadow.
- Several eyeshadows reference the pop stone band, Buss, who enjoyed significant success during the 1970s and early 1980s.
- One of the "Rad Glamour" poster swatches is inspired by the album cover of Duran Duran's "Rio", which was released and charted in 1982.
- The headband available for female person Sims seems to resemble the signature style of Gabriele Kerner
- One of the outfits bachelor for male Sims imitates that worn by MC Hammer in his "You Can't Touch This" music video from 1990.
